To all chemistry faculty and students,
1. The newer version (SciFinder Scholar 2006) is now installed on the 11 PCs of the last row in the computer lab (Row 6 counting from the Research and Info desk).
2. I also made one Web page w/ some add-on software that you can download to use with SciFinder Scholar (visulization tool to view 3D models, SciFinder Scholar Toolbar for windows). Check it out "Add-on Software for SciFinder Scholar (for Windows only)": http://www.cofc.edu/~library/scholar/add_on4sfs.html
3. I've been working hard (with various IT folks) to see if it's possible to provide access to SciFinder Scholar from off-campus/remotely (say, Via VPN) for the college's chemistry faculty. (It's been one of my goals since the first day I walked onto this campus. It's not easy for a small campus with many IT folks (ironic, isn't it?). But hopefully with the visionary leadship of the new CIO, we can make this happen).
