From the beginning of January 2006 the new International Patent Classification (IPC8) is in force. This means that there is new, more powerful and focused possibilities of searching patent documents.

The article “esp@cenet® and the IPC Reform IPC8” on the espacenet (Europe’s Network of Patent Database) site, gives a simple description of how the IPC8 affects esp@cenet users.
