e-mail antispam filtering software (Mail Frontier), finally here! Friday, 10 February 2006 11:51 amPosted by Dongmei in featured IT of the week.
I don’t know how many of you are happy to see this finally happened … I still remember the days that my inbox crowded with SPAM junk emails more than the good ones. Give you some statistics (and I can tell you where I get that if you’re curious 🙂
since Oct 2005:
total inbound email processed for CofC: 9,988,544
total inbound junk email identified for CofC: 7,849,848
percentage of junk email among inbound email: 78.6%
Are you impressed now?
You can go directly to the filtering software’s Website (https://mail1.cofc.edu/login.html) (as an alternative, there’s link at the bottom of the Web mail page (http://www.cofc.edu/webmail/)) to change the settings of how the software handles your spam mails (and likely spam mails), and choose to opt-out the system (you don’t want to do that unless you like spam mails coming into your inbox like roaches).
Help Desk made a tutorial for the new e-mail filtering system, view it at http://www.helpdesk.cofc.edu/UserGuide.pdf
The tutorial shows you
- How to log into Mail Frontier
- How to adjust/modify filtering settings
- How to report missed messages
- Resources for support and troubleshooting.
